Everything Glorious is Finally here and Awesome

The long awaited, at least by me, CD from Passion 06 is finally out and it sounds great. I went to a David Crowder concert last week and he played some of the new stuff so it is great to finally get my hands on those songs.

I bought it from itunes on Tuesday only to find out that they had a problem compressing the first song. (Good thing they didn't have a warning or anything) Although I love the idea of itunes and the music store is great if they have what you want, it has some major problems. From the consistent crashing while watching videos, a restrictive drm on anything purchased from the store, and then when you buy something from them it sounds like a song with bad buffering. So much for Apple's first program for windows being a good one. I guess as all the Mac people would say, at least it looks pretty.

By the way I think boot camp is another step toward the end of a Mac OS. There is a pretty funny jab at Microsoft on the page where they say that Windows is stuck in the 80's because they use Bios. True or not how jealous can Apple get as they market share of personal computers world wide continues to drop. They now have a whopping %2.2. Good thing the IPod is making everyone switch over.

Out...

Don't Mess with John McCain

You don't want to mess with John McCain, as Barack Obama found out, or "Osama Obama" as Ted Kennedy calls him. Check the story here.

John Piper Has Cancer

If you are familiar at all with the Passion movement for college students and young adults then you probably know about John Piper.

Unfortuantly he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The prognoses looks good as far as the type of cancer and how quickly the docotors found it.

At my annual urological exam on Wednesday, December 21, the doctor felt an abnormality in the prostate and suggested a biopsy. He called the next day with the following facts: 1) cancer cells were found in two of the ten samples and the estimate is that perhaps 5% of the gland is affected; 2) my PSA count was 1.6, which is good (below 4 is normal); 3) the Gleason score is 6 (signaling that the cancer is not aggressive). These three facts incline the doctor to think that it is unlikely that the cancer has spread beyond the prostate, and that it is possible with successful treatment to be cancer-free.

Please be in prayer for his family, his church, the doctors, and that God will work through him even in this difficult time.

the last sentence from a classic book

"Real Christianity" William Wilberforce

"But here in our own country, let us make a sanctuary, a land of faith and spiritually where the blessings of Christianity may still be enjoyed; where the name of the Redeemer will still be honored; where humanity can see what faith in Jesus really means and what are its blessed effects; and where, if the mercy of God allows it, faith and comfort can spread out of our boundaries, into the surrounding countries, and finally to the world at large."
